Take me out to the Ball Game

Some of the YSA from family home evening (not just our ward) went to a baseball game last night, so it was my first ever ball game! We were sitting in the bleachers in right field - we turned round for this picture though so it had a bit more meaning than some metal seating for background!

After the first 3 innings it started to rain - we'd seen the big black clouds coming over but hoped the wind would keep them away from the stadium but it wasn't to be... so the ground cover came out and we had to wait for ages. So we moved up to the very back of the bleachers where there were the adverts on big plastic canvasses - they made good tents! With a few small ropes and a cardboard tube Shane made it much better so that we didn't have to hold it up anymore! And then with a corn dog and root beer I was sorted.
The rain subsided in the end and they finished the whole game. We wondered if they'd just stop after 4 1/2 innings (before that they have to give people a free ticket if the match is rained off), but they kept on all the way to 9 innings. The Jacksonville Suns won 1-0! Only one guy even made it round the whole diamond! (That's because the fielders are pretty good and always got people out). All in all it was a lot of fun.
